Jeffrey A. Sanfield, M.D., F.A.C.P., C. D. E.

Jeffrey A. Sanfield, M.D., F.A.C.P., C. D. E.

Dr. Jeffrey Sanfield holds many titles; most currently being Department Chair of Internal Medicine at St Joseph Mercy Hospital, a title he has held for more than fifteen years and the Credentials Committee Chair for over five years.

Having received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Dr. Sanfield graduated medical school in 1981 from Wayne State University, and was an Endocrinology Fellow at the University of Michigan Hospital from 1984 to 1986. Dr. Sanfield is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and is also board certified as a Diabetes Educator. Having received many honors and awards over the years, Dr. Sanfield has been named “Top Doc” by Hour Magazine over ten times, and voted as a “Top Doctor in America” by Consumer Checkbook ~ both of which speak to his passion for his patients. Dr. Sanfield has participated in many clinical trials, and his major focus is on thyroid disorders, insulin pump therapy, adrenal disorders including adrenal masses, and pituitary tumors. He is a current member of the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), and American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE).
Dr.Sanfield is current President of Huron Valley Physicians Association (HVPA) and serves on the Board of Washtenaw Health Care Plan and Dawn Farms.

Dr. Sanfield is a native Michigan resident originally from Mt, Clemens, and lives with his family in Ann Arbor.

Anuradha L. Puttagunta, MD, F.A.C.P.

Dr. Puttagunta did her training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. During her training in Canada, she also spent an additional two years in the Department of Physiology at the University of Alberta. She received the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research Studentship Award in 1990. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Endocrine Society. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Clinical Endocrinology.

Dr. Puttagunta is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Her special clinical interests include: Adrenal and pituitary disorders, patients with diabetes including pump patients. She has specific training in thyroid ultrasound imaging, so she can provide ultrasound imaging, biopsy, and interpretation in patients with thyroid disorders.

Dr. Puttagunta moved from the Midland area with her husband and three children. She began practicing at Ann Arbor Endocrinology and Diabetes Associates in September of 2006.

Anita Lopes Repp, M.D., F.A.C.E

Dr. Repp received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Michigan State University and her Medical Degree from the University of Michigan. She completed her internal medicine training at the University of Virginia and fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Wayne State University in Detroit. She joined Ann Arbor Endocrinology in 2008.

Dr. Repp is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.

Dr.Repp enjoys the variety of adult general endocrinology. Her clinical interests include thyroid disease and thyroid ultrasound, diabetes (both Type 1 and Type 2), and osteoporosis. ln particular, she feels it is important to help patients find practical ways to deal with their chronic illnesses. She works closely with patients to individualize care plans.

Dr. Repp grew up in Livonia, Michigan and currently lives in Ann Arbor with her family.

Suma Amarnath, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Amarnath received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan as well as her medical degree and Masters in Health Policy and Administration, (MD/MPH).

She completed a residency in internal medicine at Boston University, and in primary care internal medicine at Yale.  She is licensed in the state of Connecticut. In 2009 she returned to the University of Michigan as an Endocrinology Fellow.

Dr. Amarnath has research credentials from the Yale School of Medicine, in departments of Endocrinology as well as Occupational Medicine. At UofM, she co-authored in the Journal of the ABSME and has done research in pediatrics studying the effects of iron deficiency on dopamine receptors.

Dr.Amarnath lives in Ann Arbor. She joined Ann Arbor Endocrinology in September 2011.

Dr. Jayathilaka received her medical education from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

She completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine in Reno, NV.

She did Fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Buffalo, NY.

Her areas of special interest include Diabetes( Type I and II) and Pituitary disease. She believes in compassionate and evidence-based care of her patients.

Dr. Jayathilaka lives in Novi and She joined Ann Arbor Endocrinology in September 2022.

Anju Dalal, MS.FNP-C

Anju Dalal, MS.FNP-C

Anju Dalal received her Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as her Master of Science in Biosciences degrees from India. She then completed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in 2008. She went on to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Anju worked as an RN at the University of Michigan and the Detroit Medical Center. She has experience working as an NP in urgent care clinics, asthma and allergy clinics, as well as family medicine. She worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Internal Medicine in a Detroit-based clinic.

Her areas of interest include implementing new technologies to assist patients in managing both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and improving the overall experience. She joined Ann Arbor Endocrinology in March 2022.

Anju currently lives in Canton with her family and enjoys practicing yoga and meditation.
